Rio Epic pack trips are beyond amazing. Picture yourself smack dab in the middle of a awesome wilderness setting with miles of epic trout waters at every turn. We work with a great packer that is local, hard workking and helps with the entire trip. Your Rio Epic guides take care of trip planning, daily guided fishing and camp opperations.

Your Rio Epic guide will pick you up on the morning of the trip to then meet up with the outfitter to load horses and hit the trail. You guide will be with you for each days fishing and running the camp. Includes help with set up and all meals.

the ultimate western backcountry trip

This trip is the true western pack trip. Ride in on horse back and enjoy the wildersss and the amazing fishing. This trip involves 4 to 9 miles in and then again back out at the end of the trip. Your guide will be with you each day and the outfitter will be there as well during the riding.

On this trip we use the horses to get the gear into camp but access to camp is on foot. Hiking each day ranges from 4 to 6 miles. This trip requires anglers to be fit and ready to cover some ground. Your guide will be with you each day.

To maximize the best experience and keeping safety in mind we max the trip at two guests for every guide.

Rates are per angler and includes all outfitter costs as well as food.

Not included: fishing license, Beer, whiskey and wine not included & gratuity for your guide & packer (20% or more)

what is included

Your professional Rio Epic guide, flies (including top secret ones) as well as terminal tackle and gear are all included. Guides will offer a yummy streamside lunch, snacks and drinks. Your Epic guide will also have water on hand to top-off client's personal water bottles.

Need to borrow a fly rod/reel or waders & boots?

No problem, they are included at no extra cost.

There is an additional charge of $50 (taxes/fees). Customary gratuity for your guide as well as a valid Colorado or New Mexico fishing license are also not included. Some trips on private waters have additional fees and will be discussed when booking the trip or with your guide.
