Camp Wannawannacatch'em is an epic kids camp for epic kids! Rio Epic has always been kid friendly and we realize the future of the sport will only grow if we can gets kids into fly fishing at a young age. Some of us here at Rio Epic have kids and realize the challenges in finding a fun and engaging day-camp or sleep-away camp for elementary, middle school and early high school aged kids.
REO offers three weeks of day-camps that are a week long for kids ranging from 4th grade through 9th. We also offer a single week long sleep-away adventure camp for teens ranging from 7th through 9th grade. Would you like to get you kid involved in the camp, no problem just drop us a note or email.

sleep-away camp ~ wannawannacatch'em
Rio Epic sleep-away camp is a week-long five day adventure in the Weminuche Wilderness. The trip is lead by head guides and we use horse support to pack in gear and supplies. Age group is 7th - 9th graders with fly fishing and camping experience.
Rio Epic's sleep-away camps were requested during our early days of our kids camps. So we said heck yeah, lets do it. Our camp is located in the Weminuche Wilderness and is supported by pack horses that bring our gear and food in and out of camp so we can move quickly to the fishing waters. This trip teaches advanced fly fishing techniques, wilderness camping, camping ethics, safety along with working in a group environment. Camping, hiking, fishing, campfire games, camp chores and building friendships are the main focus of this amazing week. Click the button for more details for the camp.

Our goal is to share the incredible sport of fly fishing with your child. Fly fishing is a lifelong activity that blends outdoor skills, physical activity and stimulates complex thought process and decision making. We will coach in a fun and engaging manner. Our goal at the end of each day is for each and every child to be worn out and full of fantastic memories. They will have learned skills and gained confidence in the use of a fly rod, but also in a wide array of outdoor activities and skills. We want each child to say this was the best camp they have ever been to.​
