Rio Grande
scenery & trout, what more is there?
The Rio Grande is known for great float fishing but when flows are low the wade fishing can be simply lights-out. There is a lot of wade fishing diversity on the Rio. Summer and fall are prime, but the spring can be awesome too.

The San Juan ( New Mexico ) Quality Waters is one of the most famous places to cast a fly. Treat yourself to a wade day on the Juan with an experienced Rio Epic guide to help learn this tricky fishery and a chance at a trophy trout.

Rio Epic has private water access on the San Juan (New Mexico) below the QW. This trip is best fished when flows are low (typically we float). Big bows and browns call this section home. This private ranch is the true meaning of "The Land of Enchantment."

Rio Epic offers private waters guided trips on the Pine directly below Vallecito Reservoir on a section called Pine Song. The owners are longtime family friends offering access to this amazing section of river. Anglers have a legit shot at a monster.

pure wilderness bliss
Remote and hard to get to, that is the upper Pine. We offer pack trips or back packing with horse support for food and gear. The fishing can offer everything a fly angler could want: wilderness, stunning trout and epic views.

The Animas flows through Durango and offers solid wade fishing. From the Double Tree Hotel downstream the river is designated as Gold Medal. Solid fishig can be found in all sections of the Animas. This freestone fishery can be tricky but rewarding.

There is no better way to escape the summer heat than spending a day casting dry flies to wild trout on a cool mountain stream. The true essence of fly fishing with a day full of pretty trout, adventure and truly stunning scenery.

stunning canyon
The upper Dolores (above McPhee Reservoir near Rico Colorado) offers small freestone waters while the lower section below the dam fishes as a cross between a freestone and tailwater. The "D" is a fun technical fishery full of wildlife and scenery.

conejos
the bunny river
The Conejos or the " Bunny River" is a small to mid sized stream that is full of trout and great scenery. The Conejos is off the beaten path making it light on crowds. Located southeast of Pagosa this pretty stream flows out from Platoro Reservoir.

We offer some really fun and unique specialty guide trips from ebike and mountain bike trips, to jeep and trout to a trip that mixes in the Silverton & Durango historic narrow gauge railroad. Also hore back pack trips and horse supported backpacking.

A true fly fishing adventure with jaw-dropping vistas in every direction. The fishing is on small non-crowded waters that are teaming with trout. This is a very fun full day trip that offers the adventure of a jeeping and off roading on mountain roads with fantastic fly fishing for wild trout.

This is a wonderful trip offering anglers a glimpse into the past while fly fishing crystal-clear streams for brookies and cutthroat trout. After a fun morning-plus of fishing enjoy a relaxed ride back to Durango on the historical Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Train.

Not included: $50 for taxes/fees, fishing license & gratuity for your guide.

what is included
Your professional Rio Epic guide, flies (including top secret ones) as well as terminal tackle and gear are all included. Guides will offer a yummy streamside lunch (on full days), snacks & drinks. Your Epic guide will also have water on hand to top-off client's personal water bottles.
Need to borrow a fly rod/reel or waders & boots?
No problem, they are included at no extra cost.

There is an additional charge of $50 (taxes/fees). Customary gratuity for your guide as well as a valid Colorado or New Mexico fishing license are also not included. Specialty and some private water trips have additional fees and will be discussed when booking the trip.
