Rio Epic offers some very unique and special still water options in southwest Colorado. Amazing lake trips chasing trophy rainbows, cut-bows, brown trout, tiger trout, brookies, cutthroat, smallmouth and northern pike. From trophy lakes close to Durango to stunning alpine lakes located in the wilderness we have something for you. From experienced anglers to rookies alike, we have a float for you or your group.

Electra Lake

The best dry fly float fishing in the West

Electra Lake has a rich history as a fishery. Locals who have grown up nad live on the lake say right now is some of the best fishing in the past 50 or so years. Giant bows, cut-bows, browns, tigers, brookies and cutthroat lurk in the lake. 

Season: May - September (Labor Day to Memorial Day Weekends)

Vallecito Lake

Year-roud float trips for trophy trout

We are one of two guide services on the lake. We offer float/lake boat trips as well as wade trips to fish the banks, inlets and shallow flats. Anglers have a chance to lock in on a mega pike in the 20+ pond range. Plus lots of trout, smallmouth bass and walleye.

Alpine Lakes

remote wilderness adventure

Remote alpine lake fly fishing in the remote wilderness.of the San Juan National Forest and Weminuche Wilderness Area. Cutthroat, rainbows and brook trout live in the clear waters. Dry fly, streamer and sight

nymphing can be epic.

Lemon Resirvior

Brown trout, rainbow trout & Kokanee

Lemon is small mountain lake near Durango Colorado. The lake is a non motorized lake but a blast to fish with from a small raft. The lake has rainbows and kokanee salmon and gian browns.

Stunning; plain and simple

Haviland Lake, Molas Lake to name a couple that offer guests the perfect place to float still-waters in pursuit of rainbows, cut-bows, brookies and cutthroat trout.

Rio Epic Float Fishing lakes Durango Colorado

Navajo Lake

Trout, pike, bass and carp

Navajo Reservior stretches over both Colorado and New Mexico. It is home to monster trout, but best known for large bass (both large and small mouth) as well as pike and carp.

Season: year-round

Electra Lake

   Full Day

  • $525 single angler ($65 entry fee)

  • $625 two anglers ($95 entry fee)

  • $750 three anglers ($125 entry fee)

   1/2 Day

  • $425 single angler ($65 entry fee)

  • $525 two anglers ($95 entry fee)

  • $650 three anglers ($125 entry fee)

Vallecito and other regional lakes

   Full Day

  • $525 single angler

  • $625 two anglers

  • $750 three anglers

Electra Lake is semi private and there are entry fees. This will be paid by REO at the front gate when checking in at the lake and fees will be added to the guest invoice.

Three person lake trips are only available on a limited basis when larger lake boats are used.

Lake/still water trip rates on our two person trips is NOT per angler, it is for both. Extended 1/2 day trips are available for $50.

Not included: $50 for taxes/fees (Electra does not have this fee), fishing license & gratuity for your guide.

what is included

Your professional Rio Epic guide, flies (including top secret ones) as well as terminal tackle and gear are all included. Guides will offer a yummy streamside lunch, snacks and drinks. Your Epic guide will also have water on hand to top-off client's personal water bottles.

 

Need to borrow a fly rod/reel or waders & boots?

No problem, they are included at no extra cost.

There is an additional charge of $50 (taxes/fees). Customary gratuity for your guide as well as a valid Colorado or New Mexico fishing license are also not included. Some trips on private waters have additional fees and will be discussed when booking the trip or with your guide.
