New Mexico Fishing License
When booking a San Juan River (all sections below Navajo Reservoir) guide trip you will need a New Mexico fishing license. Purchases are handled over the phone or online via New Mexico Fish and Game. Grabbing a license online helps fast track guide trips to the river, saving valuable fishing time.
Age: 12 and up will need a New Mexico Fishing license.
Instructions for obtaining a New Mexico Fishing License

If you have never had a New Mexico license click “create a new account” and fill out the form then follow steps. If you have had a New Mexico fishing or hunting license in the last few years you should be in their database. If you know your username and password log in and follow the steps below. If you do not know your username or password click “Forgot Username and Customer ID” and follow the prompts.

Buying a License Once logged in go to license sales and click general license sales, click “agree” to the terms and conditions. The next window shows the license options.
Fishing License Options:
- 1 Day $12.00
- 5 Day $24.00
- Season (April 1 thru March 31 of next year) $56.00
The $4.00 Habitat Management and Access Validation is required only once per season for everyone except persons under 18 years of age. The $10.00 Habitat Stamp is also required once per season to fish the San Juan below Navajo Dam. There will also be a $1 Required Internet Fee changed.
